So I had the opportunity to view then extended Zero Dark Thirty trailer while I was watching Jack Reacher in the theater. (Side comment: they should have called Jack Reacher, Tom Cruise starring in I'm completely full of myself) talk about an actor taking narcissism too far. Anyway when watching the extended Zero Dark Thirty trailer it was blatantly obvious that this movie was meant to instill a narrative to the viewers of this film. The constant repeating of "Where is Osama Bin Laden" was over the top considering a trailer alone isn't even that long in duration. Like most movies filled with propaganda about the CIA, Government, etc. etc. it's blatantly narcissistic and gives such a high level of credibility and accomplishment to itself. I personally am joining the don't watch this film boycott but it is a shame that so many Americans will legitimize their beliefs on the Bin Laden Raid on this movie. They will reassure to themselves what they were told as the official story was indeed the truth without even taking into consideration that their tax dollars are going to promoting these self aggrandizing films. I also got the opportunity to watch in full the film Argo. I have to say that I found it interesting that it portrays itself as this heroic mission that took place that saved lives not taking into consideration that there is huge timeline of behind the scenes moves being made by real intellectual and patriotic Americans. It's just amazing that it is so obvious this might as well be a commercial for a product and in this case the product is a false narrative. What's even crazier is the fact that we as Americans and tax payers fund this preposterous form of deceit. That is all. Have a Happy New Year and hope 2013 brings upon a new wave of awareness in the information age.
