Steve Pieczenik's has absolutely nothing to do with Delta Force. I know this for a fact. I know guy's that were in Delta in the early days when Charlie Beckwith was running it and NOBODY has ever heard of this guy. He's a complete fraud.

I agree. I've seen several interviews with Steve Pieczenik being introduced with his various Government jobs, during 3 administrations (Nixon, Ford, Carter), and inteviewers mentioning covert this and that, etc, Tom Clancy books as Jack Ryan character etc. Then the "founding member of Delta Force" is said and Pieczenik just smiles, silently agrees, and speaks up with whatever topic he going to speak about. An honest person would correct the interviewer. Maybe, Pieczenik worked with CIA guys who work with Delta, Rangers, Seals under Title 50 missions BUT that doesn't mean ol Pieczenik gets to maintain this LIE that he has anything to do with Delta Force.

Delta force should teach Piecznik a lesson about claiming he's a founding member. That's complete bullshit. Steve seems to be a 75 year old has been and out of the game for decades. He makes youtube videos out of his retirement home.
I didn't see you down at Costco arguing over the $1.50 hotdogs/drink combo screaming it should be a $1.25 and that you felt ripped off. Was that you Steve??

Steve seems to be a 75 year old has been that has been out of the game for decades. It looks like he makes youtube videos out of his retirement home. The other old guys get tired of his sitty videos and take him to off so they can talk to their grandkids.
Hey Pieczenik...didn't I see you down at Costco arguing over the $1.50 hotdogs/drink combo screaming it should be a $1.25 and that you felt ripped off. Was that you Steve??
I bet few people even know who the hell this guy is. Did he found the NRO too or the Rangers?

When was Delta Force created? Maybe during the Carter Administration? And who was high level advisor during this time? Who was Lt. Colonel Downing? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_A._DowningNow I don't agree with everything Steve P. says, but given his position and time period. You make the decision. Do you think I knew the former General when he was Lt. Colonel? Probably not. If you can't make the connection between the high level advisors and D. Force. Then you don't understand the risk involved. Sorry for my message.

Old thread but I wanted to post something I saw while hunting around for some info. Pieczenik's bio on his own website says this: "Based on these experiences, Dr. Pieczenik, along with other senior officials at the State Department developed the mandate to create Delta Force and other quick-strike special forces units that could be used in future hostage situations and international crises." stevepieczenik.com/about/bio/So it's a bit of fluff to say he "founded Delta Force", but it seems clear he had a hand in the policy decision to create these SF units. A bit like saying, "Al Gore created the Internet."
