I listened to your podcast regarding Newtown Shootings, I have the following comments
1.Your absolutely right about this mom being responsible for AL shooting spree.
What I'm not hearing is how the school system is also responsible. This kid was NOT home schooled but Home Bound. Home Bound is totally different and was part of his PPT. This school did not and could not handle this child. He should have been taken away from his mother and institutionalized. Having experienced and continue to experience is how difficult it is to get services and to get the right ones. The previous head of Student Services was all about the bottom line and how to save money for Newtown.
2. Your absolutely wrong about Newtown not being a quiet town. Yea, we have our drunks and some rednecks but we can still walk at night and not be attacked. There are not guns going off in the streets and folks camping out in the woods. I've lived here for over 20 years. This horrible shooting was a one time deal. No small town police would ever be ready for something like this. So, yes, they were inept.
So, before anyone makes a comment or theorize about any small town, one should MOVE IN.
