still a bit confused (as usual) - could be the antiquity of both places but my initial thought was of snobbishness (some word similarity) of which Alan might be suspected but it was a different, more formal time. He seemed a pretty 'decent chap' and couldn't see him being involved in molesting children nor herding people into gas chambers (but then apparently decent ex premier Ted Heath of the same era has some big questions hanging over him - which might explain his (enforced) enthusiasm for a united Europe). Rude anagram - maybe not

Submitting to Papa Doc - it's scary what people will incrementally accept. It seems only people at the bottom of the pile (who probably get most from the state- perhaps unfair in these days of insider, corporate welfare) are willing to get out and cause trouble when they are stirred up. (certainly happened here in the UK, when Maggie Thatcher decided that local taxes should be down to the adults rather than property)
