Dr Steve I thought you and your readers would be interested in something I came across from an unlikely source. In his book 'Blood. Brains and Beer' the Advertising guru David Ogilvy was writing about his life in British intelligence and Sir Bill Stephenson who was used as a channel between Roosevelt and Churchill and persuaded Roosevelt to set up the OSS. A few days before Pearl Harbour, he telegraphed London that a Japanese attack was expected. When asked to identify his source his answer 'The President of the United States'. thirty years ago I thought PH was a groupthink episode of hubris. Now it appears to be a stand down because of the movement of the fleet , intercepted comms, and Roosevelt and Churchill's provable foreknowledge.
